LG Nortel To Peddle NetScaler

Citrix cut a strategic alliance that will see LG-Nortel selling NetScaler MPX hardware and VPX virtual appliances exclusively

Citrix Virtualization Journal

Citrix has cut a strategic alliance that will see LG-Nortel selling its NetScaler MPX hardware and VPX virtual appliances exclusively into the Korean enterprise and telco markets.

LG-Nortel controls roughly 40% of the Korean application delivery controller (ADC) market. It's supposed to establish a comprehensive application delivery infrastructure product line to reinforce its domestic communication equipment portfolio.

NetScaler is an integrated web application delivery controller that functions as an application accelerator through caching and HTTP compression. It offloads application and web servers to ensure application availability, increased security through SSL and server consolidation. It also provides advanced traffic management through Layer 4-7 load balancing and content switching VPN.

The L4-L7 market in Korea is worth about $60 million a year.
